Ramid.py is a Python program that creates impressionoid piano pieces as midi files. It's a loose translation of a C program I had written earlier that uses pyramid-like structure to do the composition. This one has a couple new tricks and is a little dreamier and less monotonous than its predecessors, although somehow less tonal (later: it was a bug of course, fixed).
A 30-minute midi file of examples, the code, and a link to the page that describes the general method, are all here.
It just wasn't working right at Hack Day; I went to a cafe and got it working Sunday night. When I got home, Debussy was playing on the radio.
