DJ Hot Scene

DJ Hot Scene is a hack that pulls MetaData from Native Intruments Tracktor Scratch Pro DJ Tool. The current artist and song is extracted through a faux icecast server.  

 

The metadata is then used to make requests to get data from echonest and display content based on the Artist's data in the echoNest cloud.

 

The client consists entirely of Javascript and HTML, including an EchoNest API client library in Javascript.

 

Languages used include:

Ruby, Python, Javascript, TCL, HTML, JSON, E4X

 

Currently, only the artist name and related images are displayed, but this could be extended to other visualizations based on metadata.
